Abstract

The aim of our experimental study was to investigate the role of oxaliplatin on colonic healing in rats. A total of 60 rats were randomised into two groups of 30 rats for each group. Each group was further randomly into two subgroups, 15 rats for each (1a, 1b and 2a, 2b). Rats underwent laparotomy and after resection of 1 centimetre segment of transverse colon an end-to-end sutured anastomosis was generated. From the day of the operation group 1a (Control) received intraperitoneal 3cc saline solution once daily until the 4th postoperative day. Group 1b (Control) received intraperitoneally 3cc saline solution once daily until the 7th postoperative day. Group 2a (Oxaliplatin) received intraperitoneally oxaliplatin in a dose of 2,4 mg/kg body ...
