The aim of this thesis is the study of growth factor-regulated signal transduction in mammalian cells. In the present study, the proteomic approach has been applied to three different cell lines in order to detect new signal transduction molecules. A431 human epithelial cells, MRC5 human fibroblasts, and PC12 cells, derived from a rat pheochromocytoma tumor, were used as models for studying epidermal growth factor (EGF), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), and nerve growth factor (NGF), respectively.
