Chronic external ankle instability is very important and should be taken into consideration when designing training program. This instability is a serious factor affecting muscular output and sufficiency of knee muscles. For this purpose we studied anatomically the ankle joint and the knee muscles in a series of cadavers at the Anatomy Laboratory, and by using isokinetic apparatus (kin-Com), we evaluated functionally, two groups A and B of young systematically training males, with no previous history of ankle joint injury, comprised group A. Group B consisted of seventeen systematically training males who had suffered an ankle sprain injury and had unstable joint. They were evaluated in basic muscular parameters.
