Chronic external ankle instability and musculodynamic state of extensors and flexors knee muscles

Chronic external ankle instability is very important and should be taken into consideration when designing training program. This instability is a serious factor affecting muscular output and sufficiency of knee muscles. For this purpose we studied anatomically the ankle joint and the knee muscles in a series of cadavers at the Anatomy Laboratory, and by using isokinetic apparatus (kin-Com), we evaluated functionally, two groups A and B of young systematically training males, with no previous history of ankle joint injury, comprised group A. Group B consisted of seventeen systematically training males who had suffered an ankle sprain injury and had unstable joint. They were evaluated in basic muscular parameters. The results demonstrated that in this case of instability of the ankle the muscles of the knee have decreased in basic muscle parameters.Η χρόνια αστάθεια της ποδοκνημικής άρθρωσης έχει μεγάλη σημασία και πρέπει να λαμβάνεται υπ’ όψιν στο σχεδιασμό του προπονητικού προγράμματος των αθλούμενων. Μελετήθηκαν από ανατομικής πλευράς σειρά πτωμάτων στο εργαστήριο Ανατομικής της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Αξιολογήθηκαν 2 ομάδες αθλούμενων σε μυοδυναμικές παραμέτρους των καμπτήρων και εκτείνονται μέσω του γόνατος με ισοκινητικό μηχάνημα. Η πρώτη ομάδα αποτελείτο από υγιείς αθλούμενους και η δεύτερη από πάσχοντες από χρόνια εξωτερική αστάθεια ποδοκνημικής στο κυρίαρχο πόδι. Τα αποτελέσματα έδειξαν ότι στους πάσχοντες από χρόνια εξωτερική αστάθεια της ποδοκνημικής άρθρωσης υπάρχει μείωση των παραμέτρων δύναμης, μυϊκής αντοχής & ταχύτητας συστολής των καμπτήρων και εκτεινόντων μυών του σύστοιχου γόνατος
