This paper explores the factors which affect students¿ learning using on-line discussion boards. Following prior research into the use and acceptance of information technology in general, and of educational technologies in particular, we established our conceptual framework upon a number of dimensions: (1) learner, (2) instructor, (3) content, (4) social, and (5) design. The study employed an empirical approach using statistical and qualitative data analysis to examine the impact of on-line discussion boards on e-learner satisfaction, looking at various factors within these five dimensions.
