We apply the synchro-curvature mechanism instead of the synchrotron one to explain the spectra of gamma-ray bursts (hereafter, GRBs), especially those with both a turnoff point and high energy excess, which are often explained by combining with some other processes. We fit several spectra and get very good results. Our mechanism can give more detailed descriptions of the magnetic fields and strict constraints on the formation mechanism, thus it is helpful for understanding the physical processes in GRBs.National Natural Science Foundation||Doctoral Science Foundation of the Chinese Ministry of EducationAstronom
