This focuses on experiments in North Dakota with potato fungicides, which were began in 1945 to determine the effectiveness of some of the newer materials for the control of the fungi, Alternaria solani and Phytophthora infestans, which caused both early and late blights of potatoes. In addition, attention was given to the time and frequency of application and the effect of the various treatments on potato yields. The results obtained in 1945 indicated Dithane D-14 and Zerlate were very effective for controlling early blight. This article offers more information on these experiments and findings
