Reproductive health and rights when dealing with Infertility treatment and Assisted Reproductive Technology: The suggestion from research trends of the United States

This paper has two aims. The first goal is to review the research trends of the United States in by looking at the following three questions: 1. What level of socioeconomic status women are undergoing infertility treatment, 2. How do women’s preferences and behaviors change when insurance applies to Assisted Reproductive Technology, 3. How should we evaluate “oocyte cryopreservation” from the perspective of reproductive health/rights. The second goal is to consider what these research trends suggest for Japan. The findings of this paper suggest that women’s choices are strongly influenced by insurance access and socioeconomic status in the United States. Using this study as a basis, further research may now be conducted into the situation in Japan through the collection of empirical research and comparison with the discovered American research trends
