This thesis examines whether traces of pesticides can be found in the groundwater at market gardens and forest tree nurseries in Tavastia Region in Finland. The study began with the mapping of market gardens and forest tree nurseries in the region. Secondly, it was determined which of these target sites are located in groundwater areas. Groundwater samples were collected from wells on the sites and analysed for traces of pesticides. 16 of these samples were taken from market gardens and 5 samples from forest tree nurseries.
