A letter from Ethelwyn Wetherald to Mr. & Mrs. Page, 8 January 1929. The letter reads: "Just a brief note to you, my dear Friends, for so kindly remembering me year after year. As my Father said years ago when I was a child, after opening a Christmas box containing gifts for all of us, 'Why should our friends by so kind to us? It is the Christ-like spirit in them, and the best part of their gifts is that it arouses the Christ-like spirit in us.' Gifts that are hand-worked have a special value, and, in addition, these lovely daylies re-mind me every time I look at them, of the delightful afternoon and evening my two brothers and I spent with your Kins-people at Fenwick one day last summer. The house & garden, the gracious hostesses & lovely entertainment made it a memorable occasion. Dorothy was away in Toronto at the time. She had a series of jobs in that city during the summer but is at home this winter doing typewriting for a number of literary friends, who send their [illegible] here. The Graphic was a pleasant surprise. It is so seldom I see an English magazine. Thank-you, Mr. Page. I enclose a card which should have a feminine duplicate, as it is true of both of you.
