A letter from Ethelwyn Wetherald to Mr. and Mrs. Page, 16 December 1927. The letter reads: "My dear Mr. and Mrs. Page - One afternoon last August, when my Californian brother & I were seated on the front porch, I read aloud to him your beautiful & sympathetic message, sent after the death of my dearly loved brother Sam. It brought tears to us both & I remember saying it was a shame I had not answered it before. And here it is nearly Christmas & I have not yet told you of how the loving kindness of you two & of other good friends helped to lighten the burden of loss. I have thanked you many times in my heart, but the effort to realize that I am no longer very greatly needed seemed to absorb most of my consciousness, so for some months I wrote very little. I enclose a wee gift for dear little Ellen Ethelwyn with the hope that she and her parents will have a very Happy Christmas & a Bright New Year. Dorothy has been out of school for some months, but now she and Ina Stirtzinger expect to take a course in a business College in Fort Erie starting Jan. 3rd. Ina's father (Hyliard S.) has moved down near there & Dorothy will board at their place. Both girls expect to be able to get a position each by next Dominion Day; but whether they do or not I am sure that working with a definite purpose will do them a lot of good.
