Background: Early and differential diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) still remains problematic. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers, PET amyloid imaging and hippocampal atrophy on MRI have shown the highest accuracy in post-mortem studies of AD cases.
