Germplasm lines ICCV2 (GP46), ICCV3 (GP47), ICCV4 (GP48) and ICCV5 (GP49), resistant to F. oxysporum f. sp. ciceri race 1, have been released to breeders as ICCL82001, ICCL83006, ICCL83004 and ICCL83009. All were developed by pedigree selection. ICCV2 and ICCV3 were derived from the complex cross (F3 (K850 X Gw5/7) X P458) X F3 (L550 X Guamuchil) while ICCV4 and ICCV5 originated from C104 X CPS1. Bulk selection for acceptable kabuli seed type was practised in all lines. The 4 lines flower and mature as early as, or earlier than, Annigeri, a desi type cultivar recently released in peninsular India. They flower and mature earlier, and have heavier seeds, than L550, the kabuli type cultivar most recently released in northern and central India....
