The genetic relationship of 32 accessions of wild species of Arachis belonging to 25 species and grouped under 6 sections were studied using random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD). Twenty-nine primers were used and all showed polymorphism, the number of bands per locus varying from 5 to 33. Arachis hypogaea grouped with A. monticola. The A genome was represented by many diploid species including A. stenosperma Wild species from the B genome formed 2 clusters. The D genome did not group with any of the accessions examined. A dendrogram of Arachis spp. based on RAPD data is presented
