Cajanus cajan cv. ICPL87, derived from a 3-way cross between ICPX73052, T21 and JA277, was released as Pragati in India in 1986. In 5 years of trials in the peninsular zone of India, it outyielded UPAS120 by 10%, producing 1.14 t/ha. It has light brown seeds, with a 100-seed mass of 8.6 g. It is capable of recovering from insect damage and can give a good ratoon yield under optimal moisture conditions. It matures in 110-130 days
