Recent studies have shown that Brazilian and international development agencies have included initiatives for funded research projects to present a scientific data management plan for open access sharing. In order to investigate this issue, research has been developed with the following objectives: a) to identify the main Brazilian research funders; b) to identify if there are institutional policies for open scientific data; c) to analyze policies regarding their character (mandatory or recommended), coverage and support. It is an exploratory-descriptive, qualitative study that is supported by bibliographic and documentary research. The data from the institutions that promote research in Brazil was recovered through the extraction of information from the Lattes Platform, using the scriptLattes tool . As a result, 15 national and 15 international agencies that promote research in Brazil were selected. Information on Open Data Policy or instruction was located in five of the national agencies. This information was found in nine of the international agencies. A criteria framework was used as a model analyzing UK funders coverage of open data policies, which was made available by the Digital Curation Centre (DCC) on its electronic portal. The model used in the applied study addressed characterization aspects of Agencies that promote research developed by Brazilian researchers. Its adaptation to different realities and/or objectives will depend on the introduction of other variables that act on the interactions according to the study's interest
