This paper aims to expand knowledge on the effects of aninternational migration on parent–adult child relationships. Wedevelop a typology, include non-migrants in the country of originfor comparison, and consider transnational families. Analyses arebased on the Turkish 2000 Families Study, using information ofadult non-co-resident children about their relationships with theirparents. The research questions are: Do intergenerational solidaritytypes in migrant families reflect the patterns prevalent in the origincontext or migration-specific adjustments?
