BuildingBrains-3D (BB3D, buildingbrains-3d.org) is a scalable platform of web-based tools for assimilating and analyzing complete 3D reconstructions of individual neurons with respect to their precise 3D location in the brain. Presently these reconstructions are the basis for determining excitatory and inhibitory cell-types serving as sampling sets for large-scale dense connectivity simulations over macroscopic scales in the rat barrel cortex.
