Acetylcholine receptors (AChRs) mediate synaptic transmission at the neuromuscular junction, and structural and functional analysis has assigned distinct functions to the fetal (alpha2beta(gamma)delta) and adult types of AChR (alpha2beta(epsilon)delta).
