This study investigates how paraprofessionals in public libraries across North Carolina are currently using web search tools in their work, how they assess their current level of competency in this area, and what their current training needs are. A survey was distributed to a cross-section of paraprofessionals in 70 county, regional and municipal public libraries across North Carolina. Results from 152 responses reveal that paraprofessionals in North Carolina public libraries appear to have adapted well in the transition to a Web world, but training needs still exist.
