Undernutrition accounts for up to 52% of child deaths worldwide, and Cambodia is no exception. Over one third of Cambodian children are considered underweight, with the children in Pursat Province having the highest rates of wasting and stunting in the country. Sustainable Cambodia, a non-governmental organization in Pursat Province operates a Food Supplement Program that provides breakfast six days per week for preschool children in the villages and offers nutrition education to mothers. This paper adds to the body of literature of food supplementation program evaluations, showing significantly lower rates of stunting and underweight among Sustainable Cambodia’s program participants when compared to the Provincial averages.
