Review of the use of the Ponseti method in treatment of neglected, recurrent or incomplete clubfoot

This review was conducted in September of 2014 to research existing literature for the efficacy of the Ponseti method for treating clubfoot in children 2 years of age and older. Selection required that the study population have a mean age of greater than or equal to 24 months, that participants were diagnosed with congenital, idiopathic clubfoot and were treated using the Ponseti method. Nine research reports met inclusion criteria with mean patient ages ranging from 2-9 years. From these reports, correction of idiopathic clubfoot with the Ponseti method was achieved for the majority of patients in all studies.
