The primary purpose of this paper is to review literature on the mental health of women in farmworker families and frame this public health problem within a context of a greater social and occupational environment. The paper first describes relevant research related to structural and social factors that may influence the mental health of men and women farmworkers alike, and then distinguishes factors that are particular to experiences of women in farmworker families. This literature review, which describes the mental health of women in farmworker families, may serve to inform the design of health programs that work with this population to better meet their needs. The research findings will help programs effectively incorporate this research...
