Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an opportunistic bacterial pathogen and frequent cause of nosocomial infections. Its intrinsic antibiotic resistance makes it challenging to treat. Additionally, P. aeruginosa is the dominant pathogen responsible for chronic pulmonary infection in individuals with cystic fibrosis (CF).
