Research suggests that, in addition to training, the utilization of a proper warm-up protocol may improve results of maximal performance testing. However, the impact of different protocols has been inconclusive. Therefore, this study investigated the effect of a dynamic warm-up (DWU) protocol compared to a static stretching warm-up (SSWU) protocol on speed and agility performance. Fifteen male collegiate club sports athletes participated in this study. Results suggested a significantly faster 40-Yard Dash following the DWU protocol compared to the SSWU (p0.005). Elevated muscle and core temperatures, increased neuromuscular activation, and rehearsal of movement are among the factors that may have led to the improved 40-Yard Dash performance...
