“Changing Course Reserves Systems: Tumult Creates Teamwork,” is an example of how a dramatic change in a service platform, under a tight deadline, can open the door to deeper collaborations, improved processes, and improved services for patrons. In Summer 2015, the House Undergraduate Library and the Health Sciences Library at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill decided to merge two reserves systems together, move to a new platform, and be operational within 6 months.
