Multimodal Analgesic use of Intravenous Acetaminophen/Paracetamol in the Pediatric Surgical Patient: A Systematic Review and Synthesis

Intravenous acetaminophen/paracetamol (IVA/P) within a multimodal analgesic approach has been examined in adult surgical populations, but we wanted to understand what was known about its use in children who have surgery. We examined the state of science on IVA/P in a multimodal analgesic approach in children who have surgery. With the assistance of a health sciences research librarian, we searched across three major bibliographic databases (PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials) using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines.
