The purpose of this integrative literature review is to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of utilizing mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) to treat depression in older adults. MBCT is a safe and cost-effective treatment for depression. However, there is a lack of literature on the use of MBCT in the geriatric population. Since each study made different modifications to the original MBCT program to enhance its suitability for older adults, it is unknown if or how the adaptations specifically impacted the effectiveness and feasibility of the intervention.
