Stupa No. 16 from Jualian [sic], Taxila, Museum

Another monastary [sic] with small votive stupas was also found at Jualian [sic] which belong to the Kushan Period, The Jualian stupas are richly ornamented with stucco figures of Buddhas, Bodhisattvas with worshippers, curious Yakshas and female figures with children and attendants, Much of the original stupa form has been suppressed in this version of a votive shrine, notice that the mound is little more than a disc inverted over the top of the high wedding-cake-like terraces, One is reminded of a clefted mountain housing numerous hermits when one studies how the small figures are stoically placed all over the stupa
