Today, there are 3 billion people around the world not having access to drinking water. 1.76billion people are living in the areas having water stress. It has been forecasted that 1.8 billionpeople will face an absolute water scarcity and two third of the world population will be livingunder water stressed condition by 2025. Mainly the water scarcity happens due to lack oftechnological development to convert water resources in to drinkable condition. As a result ofscarcity of drinkable water people are facing health risks. In some areas of Sri Lanka, the high risk of water related diseases has been found to be veryserious.
