Set7 is also associated with regulation of different non-histone proteins including nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF-κB). Recent reports have implicated Set7 in the activation of pro- inflammatory genes in human vascular endothelial cells in response to hyperglycemia. In addition, several studies have demonstrated that Set7 is required for NF-κB dependent tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) induced inflammation.
