AbstractConstructivism grounds on the process of reframing one's mental representation of the external world to fit new experiences. The basic constructivist tenet that knowledge is first constructed in a social and cultural context, and is then appropriated by individuals gives way to the reconsideration of the present teaching instruments and strategies. Within this framework, literary texts offer a specific context through which learners are encouraged to express their opinions and feelings and they make connections between their own experiences and those expressed in the text.
