AbstractIn this paper, we prove that the energy of an atom with nuclear charge Z is greater than − CTFZ73 + (q8) Z2 + O(Z179log Z) atomic units as Z → ∞. q is the number of spin states (q = 2 for electrons) and CTF is the Thomas-Fermi constant for such systems
