AbstractThe notion ‘proficiency’ is used in different professional areas but less often than ‘competence’. Proficiency defines higher level of professional development of a professional member of staff. Besides professional knowledge, the spectrum of proficiency competence is supplemented by experiential, metacognitive knowledge. The difference between a competent and proficient nurse is heterogeneous with a lot of output and input. The study will analyse patients’ views on nurses’ skills in the process of patients’ education
