AbstractThe aim of this paper is to give a tutorial presentation of the main questions concerning the fuzzy linear programming problems. The key idea is that fuzzy set theory allows concise characterization of an environment within which an agent operates. Depending on the specific requirements the fuzzy description can be converted into a deterministic model. The methods of how to translate such a fuzzy description into a concrete mathematical model are the main theme of the paper. Interpretative aspects of the resulting models are discussed
