Persistently high cardiac troponin T (cTnT) levels reflect myocardial damage in heart failure (HF). The presence and extent of myocardial fibrosis assessed by cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) and high levels of cTnT predict poor prognosis in various cardiomyopathies.
