The evaluation of the music success of classroom teacher candidates from the perspective of different variables

AbstractThe purpose of this investigation is to evaluate the musical success of teacher candidates of class-training of 2nd level in terms of a number of variables. 238 classroom teacher candidates who have been determined with the method of aimed sampling and who have been formed of the 2nd level class-training candidates of Dokuz Eylul University, Buca Faculty of Education, Department of Primary School Education have constituted the sampling of the study. In the consequence of the data analyses, in the relationship of the gender of classroom teacher candidates for the musical success, a meaningful disparity has been found in favour of the female students. Even though there is no difference in the relationship between the teacher candidates’ their education programs and musical success, as a result of the research carried out according to whether to receive musical training or not, a meaningful difference has been obtained in favour of those receiving musical training. A meaningful difference according to whether to play any musical instruments or not is, on the other hand, favour of those who have played any instruments. Again even though there is no meaningful difference whether there is someone involved in music in the family, there is a meaningful difference between the education level of the mother and the successes of the classroom teacher candidates. Nevertheless, there is no meaningful difference obtained between the education condition of father and the classroom teacher candidates’ success in music
