AbstractThis paper introduces a novel insight to the problem of Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR). Worldwide many practical systems had been developed for ASR. Most of these systems were based on Hidden Markov Models (HMM). This is state-of-the-art paradigm in ASR. Despite the fact that HMMs are successful under a diversity of conditions, they do suffer from some limitations that limit their applicability to real-world noisy environments. As a result, several researchers moved to Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) as an alternative technique for ASR, in order to overcome the limitations encountered in pure HMM implementation.
