AbstractThis essay calculates the volume of the smoke exhausted from the exhibition center based on the formula for smoke control calculation in NFPA92B. It also assesses the evacuation system design using the CFD-based numerical simulation software. According to the results, it is perfectly reasonable to install the mechanical extraction system for the first floor and natural smoke extraction system for the second floor. The fire breaking out on the first floor with a heat release rate of 20 MW will not impose any threat to the exhibits on the second floor when some preventive measures are adopted
