AbstractResearch interest in deception detection has significantly increased during the past decades. The current overview discusses the validity of specific behavioral measures that can detect concealed information. Thus we reviewed the main theoretical assumptions behind a novel method labeled as Reaction Time-based Concealed Information Test (RT-based CIT) and we presented an overview of the current research in the field. Although the RT-based CIT is a promising method for lie detection, the focus of this article is on its potential value in understanding the cognition of deception.
