AbstractThe heat transfer phenomena of supercritical carbon dioxide are experimentally investigated in a vertical tube with silica-based porous media. The experiment is conducted for the various static pressure, the flow rate, the initial wall temperature, and nonporous or porous media. The results show that the heat transfer coefficient with porous media increases as the flow rate increases. Moreover, the excellent performance is exhibited at 10MPa because of the effects of inlet temperature. In addition, the effects of the porosity and the initial wall temperature are weak through these results. This study will provide the effective data for regarding the operating conditions of the enhanced geothermal system
