AbstractThe aim of this study was to investigate beliefs of pre-service elementary mathematics teachers’ and mathematics department students’ about mathematics. Data was collected from 104 pre-service elementary mathematics teachers and 100 mathematics department students in the spring semester of 2011-2012 at a public university in Turkey. Beliefs About Mathematics Scale developed by Aksu, Engin, Sümer (2002) was used as a data collection instrument. The data obtained was analyzed by using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS 20.0) program.
