AbstractDiabetes mellitus constitutes a major public health problem, due to its high prevalence, morbidity and mortality. The morbidity and mortality is increased even more by the association of diabetes with certain cardiovascular risk factors (CVRF). On the other hand, the arrival rate of immigrants to Spain has increased in recent years the proportion of foreign population. We aim at measuring and assessing the degree of metabolic control and associated cardiovascular risk factors over a sample of 175 native and immigrant patients suffering from diabetes. Results show high prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors in both groups
