AbstractIn this paper, a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method for a stand-alone variable speed wind turbine using permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) is studied. A method for diagnostic and reconfiguration of an open circuit fault due to a failure of one or two power switch of a Three-level boost converter is proposed in order to maintain normal operation of the energy production systems. Simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed method in various climatic and operating conditions
