Fibrate prevents cisplatin-induced proximal tubule cell death.BackgroundIn previous studies we have shown that cisplatin inhibits peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-α (PPAR-α) activity and consequently fatty acid oxidation, and these events precede proximal tubule cell death.
