AbstractThis article proposes a framework for the process of revealing personal information about oneself to other people, which contributes to professional development. The author highlights the importance of personal beliefs and experiences which contribute to the process of embarking on self-disclosure via Facebook. Assumptions about human potential and learning which challenge the psychology of language learners have been briefly discussed in terms of teachers’ disclosure via Facebook. The findings of this study are the outcome of an action research conducted by Renan Saylağ in 2011 at Bahcesehir University, Istanbul, Turkey.
