AbstractIntroductionDifferentiating a benign from a malignant adnexal mass would provide a basis for optimal preoperative planning and may also reduce the number of unnecessary laparotomies patients undergoing treatment for benign disease. MRI provides additional information on the composition of soft-tissue masses using differences in MR relaxation properties seen in various types of tissue.
