ABSTRACTThe United States has taken initial steps toward developing a high speed rail (HSR) network, but the domestic workforce experience and institutional knowledge necessary for the planning, design, construction, and operations of HSR is underdeveloped. This paper describes and provides preliminary assessment of the High Speed Rail Learning System (HSRLS), a demonstration project that seeks to address gaps in HSR knowledge and skills in the US.
