AbstractIn this paper, we consider the nonlinear time optimal control of double integral plants and, without applying the maximum principle of Pontryagin, several properties of the problem are derived from the potential point of view. A control problem of a rotating rigid body, which can be seen in crane control systems, is solved by the present method and its effectiveness is shown
