AbstractThis paper presents a novel optimization approach to constrained economic load dispatch (ELD) problems using gravitational search algorithm (GSA). Economic dispatch determines the electrical power to be generated by the committed generating units in a power system so that the generation cost to be minimized while satisfying the constraints.
