AbstractIn this work, an attempt has been made to utilize solid lubricant for the development of self-lubricated cutting tool material through powder metallurgy technique. Effects of milling time and amount of solid lubricant material over particle size have been investigated in this work. Materials were milled up to 100hours using planetary ball milling and investigation confirmed that powder particle sizes reduces up to 40hours of milling and increases beyond due to the agglomeration. Morphology, size and distribution of milled powders have been examined using scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffraction analysis and laser particle size analyzer.
